The Old Wesleyan Chapel, Little Church Lane

The Old Wesleyan Chapel, Little Church Lane
So who needs HDR anyway? Get the right early morning light, and have some good film loaded up in your camera, and you can certainly get some eye popping colours without any need for Photoshoppery! This image is straight from the camera unedited - apart from resizing & putting a border on.
Now reduced to being a workshop for an electrician, subjected to a modern roof and extensions, with all it's original windows and doors bricked up, and with a thick coat of red paint, this is the old Methodist Chapel in Little Church Lane, Gainsborough. At least we can be grateful that this historically important building is not likely to be at risk, even though it is not listed.
John Wesley, the Father of Methodism, preached here in 1788, when it was referred to as the "new Chapel". He last visited here in 1790, describing this chapel as "so neat and elegant, taking up one side of a small neat square".
