Partial quote from Wikipedia:

The Mount Stephen Club was a gentlemen's club founded in 1926 as a private business club for men by Noah Timmins, J.H. Maher and J.S. Dohan, and named after the house's first owner, George Stephen. It was located inside George Stephen House, built in 1880-1883. It is now being converted into Le Mount Stephen Hotel.

George Stephen (Lord Mount Stephen, 1st Baron Mount Stephen) was the President of the Bank of Montreal in 1876 and later the first President of Canadian Pacific Railway. He retired in England where he lived until his death in 1922. In 1975, his former home was classified as a historic monument by the government of Quebec and designated as a national historic site by the government of Canada.

1440 rue Drummond Street, Montreal.
