Standard Chartered Bank HKD $50

Standard Chartered Bank HKD $50
I came across a few photos made in 2006 that I didn't post before.

Paper currency in Hong Kong inherited the non-English British tradition of being issued by private-sector commercial banks. Currently, three banks are authorised to issue (under strict monitoring and regulation) the Hong Kong Dollar banknotes, namely The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation (HSBC), Standard Chartered Bank and the Bank of China (Hong Kong).

Other than in Hong Kong, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Macao/ Macau are the other jurisdictions where paper currencies are issued by private-sector commercial banks as opposed to a Central Bank.
