Bonsai and Shiwan figurines

Bonsai and Shiwan figurines
These ceramic figurines are from a famous town in Southern China called Shiwan. The figurines are known as 石灣公仔(Shiwan dolls) and often depict famous historical people, or legends and saints etc.

I had gone to the Hong Kong Wetland Park on my own, because my mother apparently was taken there by my brother before my arrival in Hong Kong. But in the same afternoon, it was family time again when we all went to a famous Taoist temple called Ching Chung Koon. Ching Chung Koon is famous for many things, amongst which is its bonsai garden.

Here are links related to Ching Chung Koon. My Dutch friends would be amused (as I was) that Wikipedia has Ching Chung Koon entries in only three languages: Chinese, English and Dutch.
