De Passage (Did you notice the giant fountain pen?)

De Passage (Did you notice the giant fountain pen?)
I've poor eyesight so this photo turned out slightly tilted. Instead of correcting the horizon, I decided to tilt it even more so make it a bit more dramatic.

The Hague's De Passage was built by local dignitaries between 1882 and 1885 for the express purpose of 'high-class shopping' in imitation of Paris. The Netherlands' oldest shopping arcade and the only suviving 19th century covered shopping arcade is now an official UNESCO monument.

Hahaha.... the fountain pen is the only thing normal-sized. All the rest is really small in this picture ;)

Btw.: the fountain pen shop is Akkerman's. Worldfamous in The Hague.

I think we actually went into the shop, Chris. They've a miniature train or something like that made of brass, remember?
