Philips Museum: Queen Wilhemina's voice heard live

Philips Museum: Queen Wilhemina's voice heard live
In 1927, for the first time, the people in the Dutch East Indies heard their Queen Wilhemina's (1880 to 1962, Queen between 1890 and 1948) broadcast live via Philips' shortwave radio transmission all the way from Holland. It was the first time a live speech was transmitted over such a long distance.

Queen Wilhemina's speech recording can still be heard here at the Philips Museum in Eindhoven.
