Paintings Gallery II

Paintings Gallery II
Teylers Museum has two paintings galleries. By the late 19th century, it was no longer fashionable to display paintings in multiple-row collages covering the entire wall up to the ceiling (see Paintings Gallery I earlier); instead, paintings are now hung in a single-row at the eye level, like this Paintings Gallery II here.

While most museums showcase antiquities, they usually are furnished in modern settings, with new display cases, modern lights, and contemporary walls and flooring etc.

Teylers Museum is different. Being here is like travelling back at least 100 years. The museum is unique in the sense that its display, décor, and exhibits have hardly changed since the 19th century by design.
