Happy 147th Birthday, Canada

Happy 147th Birthday, Canada
On 1867-07-01, the British North America Act was signed and made into law, confederating the British colonies of Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia into Canada. More colonies would join and become provinces. The last British colony to join confederation was Newfoundland, in 1949.

However, Canada in 1867 didn't become a fully independent state, since the United Kingdom retained legislative control over Canada and full control over Canadian foreign policy. Canada did not have any foreign embassies until its first one was established in Washington, D.C., in 1931. Until 1949, changes to the British North America Acts could be made only by the British parliament.

My best friend and his wife are in the process of having a vintage VW microbus completely restored. I'm trying to get him into photo sharing. They have a lot of photos that would be good to post. They have a Honda Goldwing too and are always taking trips and rides. I'll see if I can get him signed up to ipernity and post some photos of it. And other photos he has.
