I've a lifelong interest in banking and transportation, and New York is just the place to be.

Two of the three Art Deco buildings here are shipping-related.

From left to right:

1 Broadway (originally the United States Lines-Panama Pacific Lines Building)
5 Broadway
25 Broadway (originally the Cunard Line Building**)

** The Cunard Line was founded by Nova Scotian Samuel Cunard, long before Nova Scotia became part of Canada. In any case, we often claim the Cunard Line being founded by a "Canadian." Famous ocean liners (or cruise ships) operated by the Cunard Line include Queen Elizabeth (old), Queen Mary, Queen Elizabeth (new), Queen Elizabeth 2, Queen Elizabeth (2010), Queen Mary 2, and Queen Victoria.

The new Queens certainly don't have the lines of their predecessors, the QE2 had to be one of the most beautiful ships ever built!
