Butler's Wharf

Butler's Wharf
Butler's Wharf on the south side of the Thames next to the Tower Bridge.

The Thames' London section has been lined with warehouses and wharfs for centuries. Until the 1950s or so, freight ships delievered goods all the way to Central London via the famous river. The Thames is now considered too shallow and narrow for the super container freighters of the day, and cargoes are loaded much further downstream along the English Coast.
