Tower 700 Years Tower

Tower 700 Years Tower
The Gkerkin (Swiss Re Insurance Co.) Tower (completed 2004) can be seen between fortiication within the Tower of London, built between 1078 and 1285 AD.

The photo was, I believe, taken from Water Lane looking northwest towards the City's financial district. The stone block on the right side of the photo may be the Bloody Tower, where in 1483 the child princes of King Edward IV disappeared mysteriously and are believed to have been killed by their uncle Richard of Gloucester. Richard was widely believed to be behind the prices' murder. Later in 1483, Richard was declared King of England.
