The TSB part of Lloyds

The TSB part of Lloyds
Look above the black gate and you see the words Savings Bank. Even though I'm not 100% sure, this office may belong to the Trustee Savings Bank at one time.

The savings bank movement was started by a Scottish clergyman Rev. Henry Duncan in 1810, who encouraged his poor parishioners to save for a rainy day as well as for their general welfare. Soon his savings bank concept was copied all over Scotland, England, Ireland and Continental Europe. Eventually many of the mutual savings banks in the UK merged into a much larger Trustee Savings Bank, which in 1995 was acquired by Lloyds Bank to form the Lloyds TSB Group.
