Source of Political Controversy

Source of Political Controversy
Canada is a bilingual country and the language issue can be controversial from time to time.

Air Canada has always been called Air Canada in French, but for decades its English name was Trans Canada Airlines (TCA). English Canadians for many years opposed to standardise the airline name to "Air Canada", saying that Air "Something" is too French, citing Air France and Air Afrique as examples.

Eventually in the 1970s (?), the decision was made to drop the Trans Canada Airlines name. But in 2007, as Air Canada celebrates its 70th Anniversary, the old TCA name is painted on a Boeing 767-300, sans the political controversy this time!
