Two Modern Buildings of Note

Two Modern Buildings of Note
The green building on the left is 1095 6th Avenue* (Sixth Avenue, Avenue of the Americas) and was completed in 1970 as the New York Telephone Company Building (now Verizon). In 2006 the building underwent major renovations and was given a green glass "reskinning".

The pointy and angular building on the right side is the Bank of American Tower New York City at 1 Bryant Park. Completed only months before this photo was taken in December 2009.

* 6th Avenue was laid out in 1811. In 1945, the name was officially changed to Avenue of the Americas. However, New Yorkers refuse to use the new name and pretty much everyone continues to call it the 6th Avenue.
