According to some, a full 1/4 of the New York City populatio were Jewish during the mid-1950s. This is the Central Synagogue at 652 Lexington Avenue (at East 55th Street).

The two octgonal towers with the onion domes are very interesting. Its built in 1870 by German architect Henry Fernbach.
