To simulate the human eyes' binocular vision

To simulate the human eyes' binocular vision
A few months ago, I promised my friend Historic Camera that I'd take some photos of my late dad's Kodak Stereo Camera. After much delay, here they are. (Sorry Tom!)

A stereo camera has two or more lenses. The idea is to simulate the two-eye binocular vision system that we humans have. The image produced by a stereo camera is more 3-D (3 three dimensional) than a regular single lens reflex camera.

Now my question is, such stereo cameras weren't all that rare in the 1960s and 1970s, why aren't they being produced in the digital format these days??????
