Sir Alexander

Sir Alexander
Diesel electric engine 51 was christened "Sir Alexander" and sister engine no. 52 was christened "Lady Maurine." They were named after then Hong Kong Governor Sir Granthem and his wife Lady Maurine.

Engine no. 51 was built in 1955 in Australia and was in service for 28 years. In 1983, Hong Kong's railway was electrified and all diesel electric engines were retired.
