Jazz redux

Jazz redux
An oldie - going through the archives, wondering why anyone would shoot a portrait on anything other than b/w film in a Hasselblad ;-)

This was taken at a group portrait session a couple of years ago, and when I turned up with the Hassy, the first thing the group organiser said was "Is that all you've brought?" - ie, where's your digital camera.

Now, not being into turning bad photos into tolerable ones by the use of textures and endless Photoshop manipulation, I took (silent) offence, and waved my D80 or whatever I had back then, and then put it back in my bag.

Sorry for the homily - I do love what I can do with the D700, and I'm by no means an ultra film purist - but why are people so obsessed with the supposed convenience of digital? I wouldn't care, but film is getting towards £4 a roll these days because of it...
