FU - Film Units

As well as taking our own stills for project record purposes, we have been able to accommodate the various film units who have recorded our restoration work, and the results in action.

To date at least three documentaries have featured our workshop, these have included one on the restoration of the Saltburn Cliff Lift, another (made for TV - broadcast on 13th April 2012) which covered the work on the Berriman's Chip Van, including the return to Spennymoor. The third documentary unit filmed a short item for "Britain's Heritage Heroes" which was first aired by BBC2 on Monday 6th February 2012.

In fact, since her restoration in 2008 the pulling lifeboat "William Riley" has featured in several TV documentaries, such as "Coast" and "Lifeboat Heroes" with Ben Fogle.
