WR (O&A) - Coast (2008) at Cullercoats

To demonstrate the methods used for overland launches, and the role of women in these efforts, the "William Riley" was pulled along The Links near Cullercoats. The first attempt was using a couple of heavy horses and the second was using women power. The "Coast" programme (with Neil Oliver) was examining the role of women in overland Lifeboat launches. [Both Cullercoats and Newbiggin-by-the-Sea have these events in the history of the RNLI stations,]
