What a difference - the nest is now an old and comfortable armchair, for the post feed snooze. Has been observed to pick up and eat deliberately dropped mealworms. Generally chucking the loose leaves about.....all natural (instinctive) activity,

Oh, he was released into the wild (starting to moult into adult black feathers) after a while in an outside aviary.
The male died on the nest attempting to brood the nestlings, we had seen him do this several times in the early days.
