Pied American Robin

Pied American Robin
A leucistic American Robin, Turdus migratorius . Not the greatest photo, as it was quite distant, but I thought it was interesting.

Leucism is a genetic mutation that prevents melanin from being deposited normally on feathers, resulting in faded colors or white patches.

Photographed at Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge, Washington state | May 2011.
