White tops off Lands End

White tops off Lands End
The mist (see previous shot) did eventually disappear but visibility was poor into the evening and the wind was approaching gale force. Fortunately it was blowing on-shore so there was no real danger of getting blown off the Lands End cliffs though I made sure that I didn't stray too close to the edge. The sea was still building up, but even so was still crashing into the cliffs with some force.

The rock formations (near to far) are Enys Dodman, the Armed Knight and the Longships with its lighthouse.

Lovely view Roy ... we have a similar "rock" that I have visited a couple of times in Quebec ... on the Gaspesie-Peninsula

This is beautiful! I can just imagine how cold and windy it was there and I'm glad you weren't blown off the cliff! Even if the wind was blowing towards land, you never know... I love how powerful the ocean is, I can feel it's energy even in this picture of it. The rock formations are lovely - it's remarkable how they can survive in that ocean, though I imagine eventually they will be broken down. The lighthouse is a cool sighting and picture too!

Powerful picture, Roy! The colorful (but tough) wildflowers clinging to the cliffs which are pounded by the winds, the crumbling (but tenacious) rocks slowly loosing the battle with the wild waves... Are those boulders or beings clinging to the exposed rock out there?
