U of U Carlson Hall, recently demolished

U of U Carlson Hall, recently demolished
This beautiful building, a design of renowned Utah firm Ashton and Evans, was completed in 1938, and built with WPA funds. It was on the National Register of Historic Places. This photo was taken during preparations for demolition. I am very upset with the University for allowing this demolition. They are planning to build a new Law Building just to the north of here, but felt this building needed to go as well to allow space for an entry plaza for the school. This building was the original Women's Dormitory, and in more recent year was the home of the History Department.
The photo I got really doesn't do it justice. There are more photos (inside and out) here: continuum.utah.edu/departments/remembering-carlson-hall
