Actually, I'm not much of a Postum drinker. This jar has been in my cupboard for a couple of years at least and is only half used. Still, when I learned that Postum has been discontinued I felt a bit sad. After all, the product has been around for more than 100 years, made by Post, and in more recent years bought out by Kraft. It's been a popular item in Utah, as a substitute for coffee, since Mormons don't drink coffee or tea. My sister is very fond of her cup of nighttime Postum, and was desperately looking for it when we learned it was no longer being made. I thought for sure there would still be some on shelves in out-of-the-way stores. I even had a few kind non-Utah friends look for it in their markets. None could be found, I'm convinced, because quite a few entrepreneurial folks snatched up what was left by the caseload, and are now selling it for an arm and a leg on eBay. I myself resorted to paying a whopping $58.00 plus shipping to get a 3-jar supply as a gift to my sister, who is going through some tough personal times. An evening cup of Postum to her is a comfort. Once this little supply is gone, she may have to resort to Pero, another coffee substitute, but not nearly as tasty or satisfying to her as Postum. As for me, I'm a coffee drinker.
