Water goglet ~ ಗುಲ್ ಗುಲೊ

Water goglet ~ ಗುಲ್ ಗುಲೊ
An earthenware vase with a long slender neck is called a ‘gurglet,’ sometimes spelled ‘goglet’ or ‘gugglet’. The word probably comes from the Porguguese ‘gorgoleta,’ meaning a little throat. Gurglets were popular with European in India, because the shape let the contents stay cool by evaporating slowly -- handy for keeping water fresh. ~ Page 75 ~ Excerpt: "Written in Stone" ~ Christopher Stevens
