Re Umberto II è morto 1983

Re Umberto II è morto 1983
King Umberto II 15th Sept. 1904 - 18th March 1983), King of Italy in 1946, died in exile. For nearly 37 years he lived in Estoril, Portugal. His "Villa Italia" became the focus point of all loyal Italians. He was forbidden to return to his home country and the closest he was able to come to Italy were bordering cities in France and Switzerland. Thousands of Italians came to cheer him.

Even as a dead King he was not allowed to return to his beloved Italy. He is burried in the Monastery of Hautecombe, French Savoie, on 24th March 1983.
