Yogis´ Camp 

"The exhibition I would love to attend would contain paintings of wandering yogis and yoginis, men and women fully engaged in the actual process of yoga, or mystic union. This is not just physical or mental exercise, but the Great Yoga, which leaves nothing outside or inside - only God.

At my ideal exhibition, there would be large painting of a naked yogi with long, matted hair, seated in full lotus - right foot on left thight, left foot on right thigh - eyes closed in unwavering meditation. Beside his graceful form glow the dying embers of a large log: behind him, the red eastern horizon. Another painting would depict a tantric adept, wearing a deep red shawl and bone ornaments. plunged in the darkness of new-moon night. As he smokes hemp from a water pipe, his face is illuminated by the charcoal fire that blazes up as he takes a powerfull draw. His half-closed eyes, inebriated with love for Goddess Kali, are indrawn in expression like a mother bird hatching her eggs. This exhibition would truly kindle spiritual awareness and profound aspiration, just as gazing at a wax fruit can make thirsty for a delicious ripe mango."
