Rare as Halley's Comet

Rare as Halley's Comet
An old caboose that once traveled the Santa Fe rails, now makes it home on the Iowa Interstate steel. In the background is the former Rock Island Lines depot in Rock Island,Illinois. Remember when the conductor would ride in the cupola and as a kid, you were guaranteed a wave? (you won't get that with a F.R.E.D.)

I'm not sure what its purpose is now, but who cares, it's a caboose.

How I miss these old things. Always liked the ones with cupolas best. Great view down to the depot, Dave. : )
