Time was when these were 4 car sets, with one coach having First Class compartments - had many an argument with an overzealous guard when we pointed out that the service was advertised as 'Second Class only'. Always a bit sluggish when they were 4 cars, but became rather quick off the mark they were reduced to 3 cars. I've always considered these as interlopers on the Glossop/Hadfield trains, being brought up on the Class 506 'Hadfield' units.
