Y5 Day 189, The Morning Rush

Y5 Day 189, The Morning Rush
July 2014 hunt 19. Up to Speed - show us some speed, can be fast or slow, full of motion blur or stopped frame
This Multiple Electric Unit (unit for short) is heading North (coming towards me) to the end of the line to pick up passengers for another hard day at the office
The urge to pan with the unit was very strong ! Perhaps next time ....

Nicely composed Rob, I like that I can see the rails, train and water! Good motion blur indicating a lot of speed.

Got some great motion blur here, Rob, but it looks like it's moving away from you. The bright yellow-orange on the train adds a lot to this shot.

Great capture,

The motion blur appearing to be moving in front of the train is caused by the way the shutter curtain moves to expose the sensor plane, I have the ability with my camera to set the exposure to 'Rear Curtain' and I use this when doing my Drip shots, this then makes the drips look like they are falling normally rather than rising :-) Similarly it can disturb the shape of cars wheels making them appear oblated

We had a very knowledgeable chap (also from the UK) in the 1st 365 group that I joined; he would post pics of rear curtain flash shots that he took. Very cool.
Hmm - perhaps I could dust off the manual for #20 ... ??
