HFF Trewellard St Just Cornwall 3rd April 2022
Levant Mine and steam-driven Beam Engine at Trewellard, Pendeen near St Just in the far west of Cornwall. This historic tin mine is preserved by the National Trust and visits to see the engine and go underground are by appointment. Unfortunately we hadn't made one but the whole surface site was of interest including the lighthouse in the distance at Pendeen and the weather was perfect.

A fine shot and glad you had a good time there!
The history of these mines includes horror stories of the working conditions but Cornish folk still sometimes regret their passing!
I have never been down the Levant mine but have visited Geevor mine (not far from Levant) on a couple of occasions but not for 20 or so years, when it was the first one in the locality to open to the public. I will make a point of visiting the Levant mine next time I'm in Cornwall visiting family in Zennor!.
