Saltash Cornwall 24th September 2021

Saltash Cornwall 24th September 2021
Brunel's Royal Albert Bridge, built for the Cornwall Railway in 1859, spans the River Tamar separating Devon and Cornwall. A short four-car GWR Class 43 diesel HST - power car 43098 Walton Castle at the head and 43155 on the rear is just about to exit Cornwall with 2P17 the 13.50 Penzance to Plymouth service.

The HSTs have been progressively withdrawn from the ECML and Midland routes but they are still very active in the southwest.

HFF & have a great weekend everyone.

A great view of the bridge, the HSTs may be old and a bit creaky but the ride is better than most of the modern ones, but I guess maintenance is getting a problem

How lovely to see a shot of Brunel's iconic bridge, - how many millions of people have gazed out at this on their travels, and will do for many years to come. Beautifully composed and captured.

You've made a fairly normal scene completely fascinating with your composition, angle, color, contrast. etc. A very cool photo. I love it. (Even with a house peak in the lower left corner)
