Oh, deer!

Oh, deer!
I was spraying cactus and mesquite trees along the fence and came upon a fawn (hey, that rhymes) and I saw no trace of the mother. I was concerned that maybe the mother might have been killed (either on the highway, or by someone shooting deer out of season) and I scooped up the fawn because coyotes were in the area. Somehow, the fawn's leg was caught in the wire along the fence and was not able to free itself. I later came back and mimicked the sound I heard the fawn make, and lo and behold the mother came running back and I was able to reunite them...

The mask is to keep me from breathing mist and vapor from the spray that kills cactus. I learned my lesson in Vietnam, having been sprayed three times with Agent Orange....

What a lovely story! Good idea to mimic its sound.
