RFA CHERRYLEAF

RFA CHERRYLEAF
A converted merchant ship that had a brief RFA career in the 1970's. She was probably the worst ship that I have ever served in!

Berny, Varya Vontaggen, FrigateRN have particularly liked this photo

She looks tattered and worn allright.
I thought that I had come across this ship but I must be wrong as I left the R.N. in 1969.
This is a great picture and does show her as a ship you would not want to get drafted to.
I can honestly say that I have never seen a RFA looking like this.

Thank you for all this information, all of which I will be perusing with great interest.
No I did not see the ship built in 1917, I was on extended leave recovering from wounds received while serving under Nelson when he 'Bought the Farm'. Oh hang on a minute, I think that that must have been a dream!

That last was supposed to be a touch of old fashioned naval humour, probably failed to amuse!

The site you have steered me to 'Historical RFA' really is great material OSD and I mean to spend time visiting it, thank you for the 'Heads Up'.
