Greig Tulips / Greig Tulpen
They really look their best in dappled light, in a pot with a high hedge only one step to the south those Elises are like little lamps on those spring days when the noon sun barely gets out over the next block.

Lovely tulips. These shorter growing tulips are much more attractive to my eyes than the tall fancy hybrids.

Most Tardas, Kaufmannias and Greigiis are also fancy hybrids, justs meant for places where you cant have high spring flowers.
This leg of my L-shaped garden is a narrow lane between two tall 4 storey blocks with flats, in the middle a tiny drive to a turning spot, to the north yard lots behind a 2m hedge belonging to groundfloor condominiums like mine and balcony towers above, to the south just a few shacks for bikes and a low rectangular shrubbery the maintainance man of the next block forms more or less. Winds within in that channel can really get drastic. The first years I always hat a garden looking like I am a big fan of the pisa tower, until I learned a bit... ;o) Now I am much better with my plantings and the only problem is a new upper floor neighbor who always dries her bathroom rug on the balcony handrail and goes off to work, not considering the weather forecast. The cursed thing with the heavy rubber underside flattens even the lowest and sturdiest breeds of flowers. :o(
