Bregenz Forest Railway / Bregenzerwald Bahn

Bregenz Forest Railway / Bregenzerwald Bahn
A rather short museum railway running from Bezau to Bersbuch today. From 1902 to 1983 this was regular transportation out of Bregenz up the Ach valley to Bezau.

Superb train. A lot of coaches for such a small engine!

Not a lot elevation on that "fourcommasomething" kilometres of the museum railway, and asides of a disabled lift and the snack wagon its all just humans with no more luggage than a daypack in there, no cargo, also no need to take big loads of coals at once. :)
But actually long ago they operated the whole elevation left to Lake Constance with those tiny shunter like narrow gauge things, transporting heavy stuff like lumber and huge wheels of fine hard cheeses out and almost all other goods needed or desired in, as there was no propper road anywhere.

Very nice view. I guess a trip on this train must be really an adventure.
