Froehlichsburg Castle Ruin / Die Ruine der Froehlichsburg

Froehlichsburg Castle Ruin / Die Ruine der Froehlichsburg
In the 12th century built by some Lords named Matsch. Some times later it was the seat of other nobility named "von Froehlich". It was a public accessible ruin not long ago, renovated to security by a club but meanwhile belongs to a private owner.

Impressive even as a ruin. We have nothing here to Matsch it.

So what about Mesa Verde?
Fun wwrd association, btw... germans rather grin at the idea of some nobleman named "Matsch" as while it is likely a mch different root they derived their Name from, "Matsch" now means like anything of slimy, muddy consistence. :D
Also interesting perhaps to an american, the Matsch clan is ancestry with longer line to the Trapp's from the same muncipality. The Trapp's after saecularisation went to live in the big white Monastry above Burgeis, and did so until the last resident fled to america... they got immortalized in that strangely popular musical called "Sound of Music". So the one who built that tower shared some genes with that singing kids.
