They occurre as winter guest and migrant on the east coast of the USA and in the Great Lakes just as well as in Europe. I think in the Pacfic Northwest you get Black Turnstones instead, or at least they are somewhat rare and outnumbered by the later. Very cute wee things and fun to watch even when they rest
