Very unusual looking Sparrow. Resembles the English Sparrow.

He is an oldworld sparrow, genus Passer, just like the two non-native species you got in the USA. Spanish Sparrow is bimorph as House Sparrow and the little hens are almost not to ID where the species overlap. The gents are rather easy to sort, however, for the busy black streaks all over the sides and in summer down the chest and also the missining gray stripe on the head, if the bird is on the floor.
