Hood

Hood
Named after HMS Hood, the longest warship ever to serve with the Royal Navy and classed as a battle cruiser on account of her speed. She was sunk by the Bismarck off the Denmark Strait on 24th May 1941; only three of her crew survived. The loco, 50 031, is seen here in blue livery on a wintry evening in February 1984 at Oxford TMD.

Techy stuff: Tripod mounted, half-minute exposure on K64 slide film and scanned.
