Thanks, it has an excellent lens, indeed quite sharp. It is why I persist in trying to overcome the defect!

Thanks, Robbe - a Schneider Kreuznach 'Xenar'. The focus is by the movement of the 'tubus' rather than by a twisting lens unit.

ah, I have the Xenar on a Weltur (1936) 2.8/75mm -- but that's for 120 film, yours is 35mm ?
The sharpness in your picture is excellent btw ...

Yes Xenars are very nice lenses. Love the ones on my Rolleicord Vb and Rolleiflex K4A.
Not sure about that 1:2,8 Xenar on the Weltur. Just got it a week ago.

You fixed your Baldina well Ian. Great images !

Congrats, Ian, great shot!

Echo what Rob & Hans have said, Xenars are fine lenses, the 2.8/50mm Karat Xenar on the Agfa Karat 12 is a corker!

Best, Mike

Gentlemen all, thanks and sorry for tardy replies. I was away for a couple of weeks, and now had a busy week catching up, not least at work! Well, I have to test the Balda again to see if the problem is cured. I could not detect light leak, but it does look a possibility. Likewise I could not easily see any shutter problem. But it is ready for testing again, albeit in a queue!

Adrian - good to hear form you. Good luck/viel spass with the new job!
