Crosses

Crosses
It is a tradition in the Parish of Kilmore, County Wexford, Ireland, for passing funerals to place a cross in a White-thorn bush near a burial ground.

This practice dates back to medieval times and probably originated in Flanders, where many of the ancestors of the inhabitants of this Parish originated, in the 12th and 13th centuries.
