So when you are at the Pegasus Bridge in Bénouville, Normandy and aware that the famous battle for it was almost 70 years ago it is quite a touching moment when you see a veteran soldier of WW2 visiting that site at the same moment !

Beata, my wife, luckily captured that unique moment as even the younger veterans of WW2 must be almost 90 years old by now.

Me was later told that he was a member of a Scottish regiment.

Yes Andrew, this old soldier really was very active and had an eye for everything !

And yes, that's me in the background with an Iskra dangling from ny neck :-)

Andrew, the Iskra is a Russian copy of the 6x6 Agfa Super Isolette.
In these cameras 6x4,5 makes no sense as the counter only goes till 12.

Andrew, yes i know about these modifications. These were often done by repairmen (AFAK not by the factory) after the countermechanism went awray.
The 6x4,5 format was probably also chosen because of the fact that the position of the red window in the back for that format wouldn't conflict with the existing pressure plate which makes it so much more simple to make this mod.
