Had a great time today chasing this fella around the garden. He finally rested long enough for me to get this shot

koaxial, Terry T~Pueblo Paradiso, Janet Brien, Jon Downs and 4 other people have particularly liked this photo

SO GORGEOUS!!! Lovely details, such a pretty butterfly!

You wondered if I use a tripod: ehhhhhh, RARELY. Not in the pictures you saw. I am a stubborn, big baby of a mule and I just can't STAND tripods. They disrupt my flow. I may resort to a monopod for deep forest shots but I just don't like the frustration of positioning. So...my compromise is to BECOME a tripod! :D LOL, I'm surprised how steady I've become over a few years of holding still! :D

I thought that you didn't as you seem to capture many photos with quite small movements and that is difficult with a tripod. I must admit, I take mine everywhere and hardly use it :) Getting older and shakier now, though, so it will probably get used more.

Nicely done.

Pace Janet, I find a monopod very useful in such circs. I leave the head loose, so I can swivel and tilt the camera quickly.
