Stroud, Gloucestershire, England

Stroud, Gloucestershire, England
The Old Town Hall in the Shambles. This is a slightly strange structure, the main gabled facade is clearly quite early, probably late 16thC, very “Cotswold” in style, but the later Victorian additions, with their little castellated tops, would be more at home in the Scottish Highlands than Gloucestershire! However, it is all nicely done, built from the nearby Painswick quarry limestone, and the overall result is this rather dignified, if somewhat eclectic, little building.

Addendum: Since posting this photo I have discovered that the building dates from 1594, when the town received it's Market Charter.

1960 Kodak 66, f4.5/75mm Anaston lens, X2 Yellow filter. Fomapan 200 in Caffenol C: Instant Coffee: 20g, Crystalline Washing Soda: 30g, Ascorbic Acid Powder: 6g, Water: 500ml. 12Minutes @21C.

Magnifique travail Mike, or should I say Michel, as Rob sometimes said. Its only today that I saw your photo of Rob attached to a sad news. When I looked at the loco photo I should had understand, I will put my un-undersatnding in account of my poor knowledge of English reading... Nice work with the Kodak 66 which remains me of the Nettar Signal. We dont see this model in North America.

Robert, mille mercies pour l'encouragement!

Forgive me, I assumed that all Quebequois can speak Canadian ;-)) I can speak tolerable French, but I use a laptop with a qwerty keyboard and there are no accents - I keep meaning to get an azerty KB to plug in, but somehow it hasn't happened!

The Kodak 66 is a great little camera, I think they were aimed at the British market mainly, but the strange thing about them is that although they were Kodak's last folding camera (anywhere), they used 120 films, instead of the 620 size which all American and Canadian built Kodaks used. This, and the 6x6 format, makes them quite desirable!

Thanks again for your kind words, I'll reply about Rob under the photo of him

Henrique, muitos obrigados!

This illustrates your article about the pleasures of cheap cameras - this one cost £4.99 (€6,50), - it actually cost more to post it to France from UK !!!
