under his wing
I was watching as they woke in the evening. The female wriggled about a bit, sque-e-e-ezed, and popped! out from under, and landed on the branch below, before flying off on her long wings. The male slowly came to, and about 10 minutes later he headed off in the opposite direction.

It's cool how well their markings blend into one whole. While I was watching them, I saw a white-headed pigeon close by, only the second time I've seen a white-headed pigeon. Unfortunately, I couldn't get a shot amongst the tangle of overhead branches. . . . . photo KR
