in full flush of berries. The photo doesn't do it justice, but it was raining and the other shots were ruined by rain on the lens. This area has a lot of these palms that have come up of their own accord, from seed from a few trees we planted many decades ago. They are so pretty. . . . . photo KR

It could have been so much better. Imagine this enhanced many times, with light rain sprinkling down, in a grassy area under the canopy with many more of these palms, a brush turkey's mound, huge Blue Figs with sinuous roots sneaking down the steep slope towards the tiny rocky creek far below, and many more taller trees of a variety of species.
