Exploring the Coastline

Exploring the Coastline
It is easy to imagine the challenges that early explorers faced as they sailed up the Northern California Coast, viewed from this vantage point.

This image was taken by a Hasselblad 500C medium format film camera and Carl Zeiss Distagon 1:4 f=50mm T* lens using ADOX CMS 20 film, the negative scanned by an Epson Perfection V600 and digitalized with Photoshop.

excellently taken! - the distant haze and the nearby shadow make a great composition!

The "haze" is a cold marine layer which on most days is a thick fog bank. Thankfully, it burned off in large part for our pleasure for a few short hours.

I was trigger happy with a rare semi-clear Summer day on the Northern California coast.

Well deserved name for this beautiful location. Point Bonita indicates a Spanish occupation a long time ago.

Those Spanish colonialists knew the meaning of bonita very well!
