Morena Bahiana Tropicana

Morena Bahiana Tropicana
Minha amiga Mara me mostrou sua bela cidade de Salvador Bahia. Ela também me ensinou o significado das letras de Alceu Valença " Morena Tropicana eu quero teu sabor".

My friend Mara showed me around her beautiful city of Salvador Bahia. She also taught me the meaning of Alceu Valença's lyrics " Morena Tropicana eu quero teu sabor".

This image came from a Kodak 135 negative shot from a Yashica ELECTRO 35CC camera, scanned by an HP Scanjet G4050 and restored using multiple Photoshop operations.

Chris Grossman, Eduardo Romero have particularly liked this photo

Bahia, caressed by the tropical waters of the South Atlantic, is dream-like particularly with such a lovely host.

A young man could linger in this city for an eternity - I nearly did . . .

Although there is no turning back the clock, I still have the photos to help me remember.

Have you checked to see if you don't have any children in anoher continent, little Scotties running around? (I guess they wouldn't be childen anymore....) Anyway, it's a great thing that you got to travel as much as you did back then, I can't imagine traveling the way you did then in many parts of the world, today...

No knocks on the door yet, fortunately.
About the traveling obsession . . . People said the same thing back then! It would not be any easier today nor any more difficult than it would have been 30 years ago. I'm certain there are risk-taking adventure travelers blazing new paths as we speak . . .
